IB PYP COORDINATOR
Ms. Jyothi Malhotra
Jyothi Malhotra is the PYP Coordinator. She has 10 years of experience in Education and 5 years in the Banking Industry. She has a BSc (Honours) Statistics from Delhi University, MSc in Statistics & B.Ed. from Bombay University and is a certified IB teacher. She also has an Advanced Diploma from NIIT with a Certificate of Excellence in the same.
She presented a paper on her Action Research on Need Based Learning at a NAAC Sponsored National-Level Interdisciplinary Conference on ‘Innovative Practices: Pathways to Quality Assurance in Higher Education’, organised by University of Mumbai and Pillai College of Education and Research, Mumbai.
She represented the school in a Seminar for Teachers on the conservation of Biodiversity during the United Nations COP 11 held in Hyderabad in 2012. She has attended many workshops including the IB India Education Forum, held in conjunction with DIDAC India 2019, centred around ‘Transforming Teaching and Learning – Preparing for 22nd Century and Beyond’. Such experiences help to broaden the thinking of the school and its teachers resulting in world class education for students.
She believes that education – both learning and teaching – should be an individualised experience to be really effective. Both the teacher and the student must enjoy learning and thinking together, with the teacher being a facilitator and mentor. She feels very strongly that good teachers are those who are passionate about their work, foster creativity and agency in students.
She is an avid reader and feels that her academic learning has been complemented by all the books she reads. She is also a student of the Indian scriptures, firmly believes that knowledge is the highest wealth and is grateful to be in a position where she can share her learning with younger generations.
